Apple has decided to move forward and change how they format the pictures taken on their devices. Moving away from formatting pictures as jpg and moving to formating pictures know as HEIC. This stands to High Efficient Image Format. Apple has set it as the default image format for iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra. Recently when I airdropped images taken on my iphone 11 pro I noticed I couldn’t upload the photos on a website because they needed to be jpg.
In order to fix this I followed these quick steps in order to convert the HEIC image into JPG.
- Find the image in your finder or downloads. Click the image and preview should open up the picture.
- Click onto file on the top left and scroll down to export and click export.
3. After clicking export you will see an option to change the formating from HEIC to JPG. Change the format, choose the destination where you want the file to be saved to and you should have successly converted your file from HEIC to JPG.
